Related to my previous post here is an example of flight to New York, with British Airways, not a very good company lately to be honest. There are more options around this price range, with various companies, depending on the dates. For the accommodation try on AirBnb, but start booking now as the prices are not low-cost.
I wanted a flight to attend to the summer class of Sotheby’s Institute of Art, From Paris to New York: Exploring Modern and Contemporary Art.

Date: June 4 – June 28, 2018 (4-week course).

This introduction to modern and contemporary art history explores the most important movements, schools and visual art making practices from 1890 to the present as represented by the world class museums and galleries of New York City. After discovering the roots of Modernism in Spanish and French 19th century painting, the course traces multiple narratives through Cubism, Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Pop, Minimalism and more. The structure of the course joins introductory presentations in the classroom with engaged visits to museums, galleries, and public art sites in New York to connect historical and theoretical concepts with direct visual analysis. Through their study, students come to understand how the art of the past continues to influence artists working today.
By the end of this course students will…
- Have an understanding of the most significant styles, trends and art-making practices of the last 100 years.
- Be familiar with the work of the most important and critically acclaimed artists of the period.
- Grasp how the art of the past continues to influence contemporary artists.
